VV25DVD - 1989 International Women's Wrestling Championships
Featuring: 20 Skilled Wrestlers from 6 Countries
Amateur wrestling history was made in June 1989, as the first-ever International Women's Wrestling Championships were held in San Francisco, CA.. These contests have been held in Europe for a few years, but this is the first time for the USA. More than 20 skilled women from about 6 different countries competed against each other in 'international Free-style' type of wrestling (similar to high school wrestling) where points are awarded for take downs, etc…. and falls are won by pins. No, you will not see any busty women bulging out of their bikinis, but instead, you see intense, skilled wrestling action among very attractive women, mainly in their late teens and early twenties. We have played the video for many fans and they were amazed at the strength and skill of these women. In fact, the USA coach said that most of these women could easily beat high school boys of about the same weight. Since this is amateur there is no monetary incentive, just the prestige of winning and the women go ALL OUT in their matches, which included some injuries. The video runs about 88 minutes, and includes a 10 minute interview with an exciting American woman only 17 years of age, who was one of the stars of the show. Aside from this interview, you get about 80 minutes of the most intensely skilled wrestling action EVER seen, and we are not kidding. Some of the pinning holds were excruciating just to watch as we were editing the video.
Total running time is about 88 minutes.
